I’ve sucked at being present lately. The days got long during lockdown, and often frustrating, and work got time consuming. It took talking to a friend the other day to realize I needed to get my creative outlet back.
SO here we are, with a post and pictures I shot last month. It’s okay– it’s always red lipstick season down south 🙂
Here are my top picks for the BEST red lippies around. I prefer a more orange/warm undertone red, but at least one of these is slightly cooler and more blue if that’s what you like.
Top down by brand: NYC, Sephora, Revlon, Bite Beauty
YALL. This stuff is one of my favorite things ever. The texture is smooth without being too matte OR too shiny, and it’s a great orange hue without being too warm. It also literally will last through a nuclear bomb, no kidding. You can take this off at night and wake up with a stain on your lips- which let’s be honest, I adore.
This is a $9 find that beats most everything I spend $9 on. It’s so comfortable– I would say the most comfortable lipstick on this list. This is the most orange of the group too, but that’s probably why I love it so much. It lasts okay, but you probably need to stick it in your bag for touchups. It’s definitely more prone to slip than the matte versions.
This is another great one (I honestly can’t pick a favorite) because it can go with any makeup look– totally done up for a night out or just mascara and a fresh face. This is the most matte look of the group, which means it stays put but also doesn’t stain like the Bite Beauty option. I think this is more of a true red too, and doesn’t lean as orange as the others.
Okay, here’s the deal with this little guy. The NYC brand can be hard to find, and the products are not top quality all the time, but I love this product and this shade. It reminds me of the old Revlon lip stains that came in the chubby crayon packaging- it’s sticky but comfortable, and the color is perfect. It’s a shade that can go on top of another lip color or stand alone on a no-makeup day.
I’ve been shooting a lot of videos for work, and I thought it would be fun to share with y’all the makeup routine I’ve been doing for them! Since we’re all stuck in quarantine, use this as your opportunity to try some new makeup techniques or order some new products. I linked most of these from Amazon so you don’t even have to leave your house to pick them up.
Happy playing!
I don’t always use a primer but if I know I have a long day ahead, I will try to put that on first so it keeps my makeup on longer. The ones I have been reaching for lately are the Revlon Rose Glow primer or the Milani Prime Light primer— both keep my makeup on and also have a little shimmer that makes your skin bright and fresh.
When it comes to foundation, most days I typically just wear a light tinted moisturizer like the IT Cosmetics CC Cream (literally the best ever). Lately though, since I have been shooting videos every day and want my skin to look a little more made up under the lights, I’ve been mixing that and the L’Oreal Infallible foundation. I love the way they look together and it lasts all day.
I’ve been using the L’Oreal Instant Age Rewind eye brightener for literally years. Get the brightener shade– not the colored one! I pat on just a few dots right under my eyes to cancel out some of my dark circles. Then, I add Tarte Shape Tape concealer on top of that and under my nose to conceal anything else that needs it. (If you’re looking for a drugstore concealer, I love the Maybelline Fit Me one too)
I put a little translucent powder on top of that concealer and on my T-zone just to cut down on any oil– I’m not really picky, but I recently have been loving the Revlon Candid loose powder.
This sounds scary, but a cream bronzer makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE. I promise it’s not scary. I use the NYX Bright Idea Illuminator as a bronzing stick in the shade “Maui Suntan.” Sadly it’s kind of hard to find, but I hear Physicians Formula’s new cream bronzer stick in Toffee is also amazing.
Wet n wild bronzer in “Ticket to Brazil” is one of the best things in the world and its under $5. I swear by this bronzer and use it on top of that cream– it just warms my face up without looking orange or fake.
Next comes my favorite, blush! My go-tos are the cult-favorite NARS Orgasm, Benefit Gold Rush or L’Oreal True Match in Baby Blossom. I have about 800 blushes though and honestly love them all… it’s hard for me to not like a blush.
I don’t always wear highlighter, especially if I have to shoot a video. But if I do, I either dip into my Urban Decay highlighter palette, any of Wet n Wilds, or the Essence Pure Nude sunlighter. The Essence and the Wet n Wild ones are both under $5 and all of them make great eyeshadow, too!
My new favorites for my mascara and brows are the Covergirl Uncensored mascara— it’s literally amazing– and the Revlon Brow Creator. Benefit still has my favorite brow product, but this is a close second.
And that’s it! I hope y’all enjoy this and it’s helpful. Let me know if you try any of these products and what you think of them!
This post was not sponsored; all opinions are my own.
You get invited to be on a TV show or interviewed for something, or do a professional photoshoot, and you’re thrilled to death! But also, a little terrified about looking good on camera. I get it.
I’ve been on several episodes of national TV shows, along with a CNN special. I also do videos for my day job as a news reporter. So I can tell ya, I know a little about doing your hair and makeup for camera because I’ve made ALL the mistakes. And Lord knows, ya’ll should learn from my slip ups.
Makeup for camera is very different for most people than their daily beauty routines, and that’s definitely true for me. Here are my top tips for looking good in videos and on camera, and I hope they help you a little when your big time comes!
Tame those flyaways
When you’re under bright lights, especially with a darker background (like a backdrop many photographers or videographers use) the little frizzies in your fair are totally magnified. Especially if you’re like me and like to tease your hair, or if you have thick hair! I can’t tell you how many times in a shoot I’ve had to stop and take a wet paper towel across my head to tame my hair, or rub lotion between my palms and pat down my little flyaways. Make sure you use lots of hair spray or gel to keep your hair in place, even if you normally go for a bigger, bed-head look like I do.
Neutrogena shine control powder
I was recently on a shoot for a Discovery ID Channel show and this was what the video team handed me to keep under my chair, with a little white makeup sponge. It seems super thick (which it is when applied straight on your face with a sponge like that) but that’s exactly why they like it. You can powder your nose or forehead and totally, completely cut out any shine without looking like you added more makeup or changed your makeup between shots. It’s easy and from the drugstore, so definitely pick some up to have in your bag. You might feel really weird putting it on, especially if you typically go for a dewey look, but I promise you’ll be glad you did in this situation. Pick it up at Target.
Matte matters
Speaking of dewey looks– as much as I love them, that’s not what you want on a video or photo shoot. You don’t have to have heavy, mask-like makeup but you also don’t want your face to be reflective in the camera. The dewey-ness also can make your pores look bigger, which no one wants! Keep your face fresh looking with a foundation and concealer, but don’t go too heavy on contouring or highlighting.
Shimmer
Shimmery or glittery highlights, blushes, and eyeshadows are some of my favorite things- but they aren’t camera and harsh light friendly. Again, glitter on your cheeks can make your pores look bigger than they are under all that lighting. Keep it off the eyes, too! Go for a matte, clean look with a color to warm up your crease and a lighter, skin-colored shade to put on the inside of your eye. You can use eyeshadow or eyeliner to define your eyes, but don’t overdo that either. It can look much harsher in photos than you realize.
Lippies
The only real rule here is wear a lip liner, even if you usually don’t! It will keep your product in place, so it doesn’t start sliding into the skin or lines around your lips, and make it last longer too. I tend to stay away from very shiny lipsticks or glosses when on camera because they are too reflective off the lights for my liking.
It’s no secret I’ve changed my ways when it comes to face makeup over the past year– I’m planning to write a post about that soon, but I converted to a light coverage kind of gal and ditched my old full-face, matte routine. But I think for the summer, most of us don’t want to wear our normal makeup and opt for something lighter or something with SPF.
Recently I ran to Ulta and picked up some new things for the season that I have been absolutely loving. I’ve been really leaning towards a light or no base, with bronzer and blush and something to give my skin a dewy effect. For eyes, I really have been loving a warm-toned look.
These products give me just that! Let me know if you try any of them and what you think.
Almay Smart Shade Skintone Matching Makeup
Ya’ll, I am shocked at how much I like this stuff. Its one of those products that comes out white with little grains, but it changes color when you rub it on. I rub it between my fingers for a few seconds until the color starts appearing, and then apply it directly to my face and blend with the warmth of my fingertips to make sure the color is just right. There’s several different shades that adjust, and I went with the lightest.
I LOVE the way this cream feels on my face, and I love it has an SPF. Its the perfect beach makeup for me! It also isn’t very dewy, so if you’re looking for something like that just use a dewy primer or spray over it and you’re good to go. Perfect natural face makeup when you just want a little help and protection for your skin! (Buy it here)
Australian Wellness Co. Mango and Papaya Lip Balm
I picked this up at a CVS at the beach on a whim (it was in those darned things by the cash register, they always get me!) and I have been in love ever since. It goes on really white and thick, so I use it before bed or first thing in the morning before I do my makeup. After it has time to soak into your lips, you will feel the difference. I don’t think there’s an overwhelming smell or taste, despite the claims on the bottle. It’s pleasant, but definitely not too much.
PSA the applicator on mine had a little plastic bump on it, so I’ve just been applying it to the back of my hand and then using my finger to rub it into my lips. (Can’t find it online, but I love this brand too)
Sun Bum Tinted Lip Balm
Can you tell I have a slight lip balm addiction? This stuff is great because unlike the other one, you can wear it like a lipstick during the day. It smells AMAZING, tastes good (don’t ask) and has a color that wears like a light lipstick. And, it’s got SPF! Lips are one area, like the tops of your feet and your ears, that usually don’t get sun protection. Anytime you can remember to protect those areas and actually have a product that makes you forget you’re helping your skin, it’s a winner.
I have the color Sunset Cove and Sand Bar. You can pick these up at Ulta or online!(Buy it here)
Revlon Volumazing Mascara
This is an incredibly underrated mascara, in my opinion. It’s a really lightweight and easy to remove formula, which is awesome, but it stays put all day even in the sweaty summer days down south. It gives you that thick, flirty lash look and is more volumizing than lengthening, but I’m completely down with that. If you’re looking for a new drugstore mascara, check this guy out. (Buy it here)
Colourpop Brow Boss
I am usually NOT a thin brow pencil kind of girl- my usual go to is Benefit Goof Proof. I ordered this on a whim because it was $5 and at first I wasn’t crazy about it… but I started using it, along with a little brow gel (Archery from Soap and Glory is my fave) and I love the way it looks! I use the gel first, and then fill in any bald areas with this little guy, concentrating on the front and the arch. I love the thick look this process gives my brows! With a light, summer makeup, I think full brows are a must. And God knows I do not naturally have those. (Buy it here)
Urban Decay Naked Petite Heat
The internet made me do it. I’ve seen this palette since it came out last year and I have always liked it, but I didn’t ever bite the $29 bullet and buy it. Well, that day came and I am completely smitten. I was a little worried about the limited looks 5 shades could give, but it’s actually surprised me in the best way possible. There is a great browbone/highlight color, a neutral for the lid, two great outer corner or crease colors, and a color I can use as a liner. Shockingly, I have been reaching for it everyday and haven’t gotten tired of it!
I also love how this little guy has a big mirror, and its perfect for travel. I’m already planning for it to be the one shadow I take with me to the Bahamas next month! (Buy it here)
Pacifica Alight Multi-mineral BB Cream
This is another product I bought on a whim (are you seeing a pattern here?) and I’m surprised I actually like. It’s also another white-turn-nude formula, but maybe a little less versatile than the Almay shades. This product doesn’t actually give you any coverage or color to your skin really, but acts as a dewy cream that makes you look like you have a Victoria’s Secret model skin. I recently used this with a little of my Petite Heat eyeshadow, some strong brows, and my tinted Sun Bum balm for family dinner after a day at the pool and it was such a perfect look! It isn’t irritating to my skin or covering up my face, but rather giving a little healthy glow to look a little less tired than I usually am.
I am curious to see if this lays well under makeup— if so, it would be the best primer! (Buy it here)
I recently had a pretty big trash bag full of makeup products- both empty, expired, or simply ones I didn’t care for. I thought it would be fun to list the things I’m tossing for whatever reason and tell ya’ll what I thought about them! I love trying new beauty products, so I think it’s definitely proof that something is awesome if I plan to buy it again.
Let me know if you have tried any of these products and if your verdict was the same as mine! (Links for everything is listed in the name of the product)
Will repurchase ASAP
Neutrogena SkinClearing concealer– Y’all, I adore this stuff. The color is a little dark for me, but I make it work because I love that this product allows me to cover my blemishes but still treat them with salicylic acid while wearing makeup! If you’ve ever used a spot treatment, you know makeup does not layer over it well. I adore this concealer and have used it for years.
Maybelline Dream Cushion foundation– Y’all. This foundation is the perfect light-coverage foundation for girls looking to get ready on the go, or those who want just a little bit of makeup for a natural day. I love this stuff and have used it as my “get up and run” makeup for as long as I’ve had it. I can pat this on in my car mirror with a sponge or with the little pad it comes with and throw on some mascara, and be ready to go.
Maybelline Fit Me concealer– While Shape Tape is my favorite concealer at the moment, Fit Me is my all time favorite. It’s definitely thinner than Shape Tape but you get great coverage and it is super hydrating without looking oily. I will buy this again and again and never look back.
Eco Tools makeup sponge– The ONLY dupe for a beauty blender that I use. This guy is the truth!
Maybelline Brow Precise Fiber Volumizer– I know there’s a lot of Maybelline on here, but for good reason. I always liked a pencil brow product until this guy— it’s like a fiber mascara for your brows! The color is perfect for me, and I love how thick my brows look with just a few swipes of this. The only thing with this product is that you’re not going to get a very neat, Instagram-looking brow, but if you’re okay with messy brows then this is for you.
Maybelline The Rocket mascara– My ride or die mascara since 2012, I don’t even want to know how many tubes of this I’ve gone through. It’s embarrassing. This is truly the best first-coat mascara on the planet and I will buy it until you bury me.
Won’t rush to repurchase
Rimmel Stay Matte powder– This stuff is fine for a powder when you’re doing your makeup, but it’s not awesome for touch ups later in the day. It works, but I think there are better powders that doesn’t make your skin look patchy and your makeup separated.
Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot primer– I heard several Youtubers rave about this product, but I never could make it work. Every time I use it, my pores look huge and my foundation slides off my face. Not a good look, but maybe this is better for someone with a different skin type.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Tint– I love the formula of this and I think it’s a great product. But the color doesn’t match my skin really well, especially when I am not self tanned. If you have a little deeper or more warm-toned skin than me and want a summery foundation, this is a great choice.
LA Girl Pro Powder in banana– Again, I heard people rave about this product. I have never been able to make yellow-toned powders work for me— again I think it’s my coloring, because they make my face look sallow and dull. Also, baking my under eye area is something that just doesn’t work at all for me! I know this is the main point of this powder, so I knew I should toss it because I will never use it again.
L’Oréal Infallible stick foundation– While I adore both liquid foundations in the Infallible line (and the powder) this stick formula didn’t work for me. I tried applying it so many different ways, but each time the finish was cakey and the product quickly separated in my T- Zone. Not for me.

I did something I tell ya’ll ALL THE TIME not to do, so I felt like I should come clean.
I weighed myself and then was hard on myself for the number I didn’t like staring back at me.
I know, I know. I say constantly— and I know to be true— that weighing yourself on your home scale doesn’t give you a full picture. When I stated working out seriously I gained weight, and I was okay with that. And, I tell ya’ll to be okay with that too.
But I wasn’t okay with the number the other day, and I was upset at myself. I wallowed around for an hour about that number. Soon though, I remembered something. I remembered I can break a wooden board with my kick. I can get out of choke holds and I know how to throw someone to the ground. My body is strong and capable.
Maybe it’s not 100 pounds. But why does that matter anyway?
I am strong, I am healthy, and overall I am happy with the way my body looks. Those three little numbers on the screen below me shouldn’t make me want to throw all that way.
This was something I wanted to share to show that while I always want to be as body positive as I KNOW I should be, sometimes I have setbacks– and I’m okay with that. But when I, 9 days out of 10, practice self love and self care, I am happy with my body and I don’t even have the temptation to get upset over a number.
And you shouldn’t either. But if you do, don’t beat yourself up about it. Cry a little or wallow in your misery, but in an hour you pick yourself up and remember, you are capable of so much more than that number can show.
In 2019, let’s stand together against criticizing our bodies and body shaming. Let’s stand for pushing our bodies to do their best, and thanking them for keeping us going.
There are so many products that claim to change your life, its hard to figure out which ones actually will without spending all your money. Don’t worry though- I’ve spent all my money on them so you don’t have to!
Here are my top gimmicky products that I have actually bought and loved, and I think are worth purchasing. Let me know your fave product like this!
Beachwaver Pro
I’m starting with the best, because I am hopelessly addicted to my Beachwaver. I actually got hooked when my mom bought one, but figured out pretty quickly her hair was too short to use it. Since then, I’ve basically turned into an infomercial for this product. (not sponsored, unfortunately. just obsessed)
If you’ve never heard of the Beachwaver, here’s the deal: You clip your hair in it like a normal curling iron and push a button, and it winds your hair around the wand for you. Leave it for a few seconds, release the clamp, and viola! Perfect curls that last for days. Theres a button for the left side of your head and one for the right, so the only real trick here is making sure you remember to switch the button for which side you’re on.
Seriously, this curling iron is life changing. I can curl my whole head in under 10 minutes. 10 minutes for all this hair! The heat is adjustable and even though I use it on the lowest setting, my curls last all day and turn into pretty waves for the next few days until I wash it. I know this guy is expensive, but its worth every penny.
Drain wig
This is a less sexy, I know, but hear me out. I have long hair, my husband has long hair… which means our drain is pretty much always clogged. And cleaning the drain out to me is the worst thing in the world. It’s disgusting. In order to avoid that, I have tried every single hair catcher on the market, and nothing has worked for us.
Until the drain wig. This little thing is awesome. You just suction part of it on your tub and thread the little metal chain into the drain. That’s it! Every week or so (honestly I just wait until the water begins pooling) you pull the chain out and wipe the hair off of it. I don’t know exactly how it works– I think its the little things that stick off the chain– but I don’t care. Its about $12 for a two pack so RUN to that Amazon link above.
Clarisonic
I recently had to buy a new Clarisonic brush because the one I had for the past 5 years or so finally bit the dust. But, when I realized my old one was ready for the trash can, I knew I had to get another! There really is no way to get your face as clean as you can with these brushes. I use it probably 3-5 times a week, because honestly I am just too lazy to use it twice a day… oh, the struggle.
I know there are other electric face cleansing brushes on the market, but I’ve only tried and and can vouch for the Clarisonic brand.
For reference, I had the Mia 2 or 3 brush before and this time I got the Mia Prima. The “deep pore” brush head is my favorite, and I am dying to try the sonic exfoliator attachment.
Benefit They’re Real Lipstick
This lipstick is one of those two-in-one things, where there is a liner portion attached to the main lipstick bullet. The liner area of the They’re Real lipstick is super small, so I find it pretty effective and I don’t think I’ll finish the tube with no lipstick and all liner. You have to learn how to position the product when you’re applying it, but once you do it is gold.
I love love love the color Bare Affair and every time I put it on, I wonder why I don’t wear it everyday. Isn’t that the best feeling?
Wet Brush
If you haven’t heard me talk about my Wet Brush, you don’t know me. I’ve gotten everyone in my life hooked on it! If you have long hair like me or hair that instantly tangles the second you get it wet, this product is for you. When you get out of the shower, or the pool, or wherever you are and your hair is wet, a normal brush can pull at your hair and cause breakage. But this brush is specifically designed for wet hair and doesn’t pull or break at all. Even for the most tender-headed people I know, they can use the Wet Brush totally pain-free! If you buy anything on this list, make it the Wet Brush.
This post is not sponsored; all opinions are my own.
This primer ya’ll. I am not one who likes to put oil in her foundation or anything like that, so the idea of this product kind of scared me. But, I fell in love the first time I used it! The dropper only lets out a little at a time, so you don’t overload your hands in product. I rub it between my palms and then just press it into my skin. It sinks in almost instantly and leaves your skin looking so moisturized and glowy! There are little sparkles in it, but they aren’t chunky and don’t affect your foundation or any other makeup that goes on top. I love the way this primer makes my face makeup look, and I definitely think it improves the wear time in my T-zone, too. Absolutely give this guy a 10/10!
ESSENCE KAJAL EYELINER IN TEDDY
I am typically a liquid eyeliner kind of gal, but this Essence eyeliner is amazing. It is so soft and glides on easily, and its also really easy to smudge with your finger. Even though the formula is so light, it stays on all day and doesn’t fade! I love using this with my Stila shimmer and glow eyeshadow and smudging it into my lash line.
STILA SHIMMER AND GLOW EYESHADOW IN STARLIGHT
This is one of those products I thought was probably overhyped, but I bought it anyway just to check it out. It is so great and definitely worth the hype and the price tag! I use this on my lighter makeup days or when I don’t have time to do a full eyeshadow look. I take a little bit on my lid and then a little on my brow bone and just rub it in with my finger. It does crease a little toward the end of the day, but I think a primer would definitely help that if you wanted to add an extra step.
URBAN DECAY SIN AFTERGLOW HIGHLIGHTER PALETTE
After forever of searching for this palette, I finally found it online at Nordstrom Rack for $19. I am so glad I bought it! Originally I thought it would be a great palette for travel with bronzer, blush, and highlight colors. After a little while of using this though, I’m not sure the warm shade is going to work as a bronzer. But, that being said, the colors that don’t work for your skin tone as a blush or highlight can easily be used as eyeshadow. I’m planning to pack this on an upcoming trip and I will have to let ya’ll know if I missed my other blushes and highlights!
HABE MAKEUP BAG
My mom gave me this makeup bag for Christmas, and I am loving it. I’m really picky about makeup bags and the way the compartments are organized, but this Habe bag is laid out so well. There is a large compartment on one side, and the other side has a brush holder and a zipper compartment where I like to store Advil, q-tips, etc. I know it will be great for travel!
BUXOM MATTE BIG & SEXY GEL LIPSTICK IN WHITE RUSSIAN
I resisted buying this for a while because God knows I do not need another lipstick, but of course I eventually bought it. And I completely love it! This formula just glides on and is so smooth, but you definitely have to make sure you keep your lips exfoliated or it will cling to dry patches. The color is the perfect pink, peachy nude shades that is one of those “your lips but better” colors. I definitely have been grabbing this lipstick in the mornings where I am just going for a natural, clean makeup look or when I don’t know what other lip color to wear. It literally goes with everything! And, sometimes you can fin it for around 5 bucks at T.J. Maxx!Follow
I took a little blogging break to focus on planning the final details of my wedding and to actually enjoy the wedding and all its festivities, but I’m back in the game and it’s already the holiday season! I have a bunch of fun holiday content planned, but for now, I’ll leave you with a little beauty advice about my favorite blushes for the cooler weather. And, they’re mostly drugstore!
Normally I am more of a peachy-toned blush kinda gal, but during the fall and into the winter I like to go a little lighter on the sun-kissed hues and try more mauve or deeper tones. And yes, you can do that as a fair-skinned girl!
Hey y’all! When I was in high school, I hoarded single eye shadows from Maybelline, MAC, and Covergirl. But, in the last 8 years or so, I feel like palettes have taken over the game.
Palettes have such pros and cons to me. The pros are the fact that you get a dozen or so shadows in a single compact, often for cheaper than you would get buying them all separately. Also you get an already curated group of colors you know will look good together in several different ways. But, on the flip side, sometimes you can’t spend $40-60 on a palette, or you’re only interested in one or two shades in the entire thing.
I get it. But I think overall, if you know how to navigate the insanely saturated world of eyeshadow palettes, you can wind up with a great collection you’ll go back to time and time again.
Here are my top 6 favorite palettes, both drugstore and high end. Happy blending!
Tartelette In Bloom by Tarte
Maybe my favorite palette ever! I love the shades in this palette and how they can be used for simple & clean looks for every day, but then you can use the dark burgundy or black to smoke things out a bit for night. Classic colors and such a great formula! This guy is totally worth your money, ten times over.
Peach-scented eye shadow… are you skeptical? Because I was. But no joke, this palette is awesome. I love the colors, the shimmer shades are amazing, and the scent is actually really nice! There’s quite a bit of fallout, but I that’s not surprising with the price point and kind of odd packaging on this product (the shadows like sit on top of the plastic palette). I’m still loving it though, because the shades are so pigmented and blendable.
Ah, you knew it was coming. Naked 3 is my old standby, and I can always reach for it when I want to do a quick look that I know will turn out well. I feel like I don’t branch out a lot into some of the colors into this palette, but I’m trying to give some of the glittery and deep shades a shot. But, regardless, this is a product I couldn’t live without.
This palette is a sleeper for sure. It’s SO affordable, and I would definitely call it a dupe for the original Naked (which was a close runner-up in this post). These colors are surprisingly pigmented and the white shade is awesome to lay down before you get started building shadows. You can tell that the fallout is pretty heavy, but I don’t mind too much because the shadows are so buttery, you could blend it with your fingers.
I had an internal debate by including this, but hear me out. I don’t usually use solely this palette for a full look, but it has some undeniably amazing matte shades. The four shimmer shades aren’t my favorites (although the formula is great), but I love how the palette is designed to make things easy– each row is technically a “look,” which can make things super easy if you are being lazy or just don’t know what to do! I have a few staple colors in this palette that are totally worth the price tag. Plus, I love the huge mirror!
Let’s start by saying I love Makeup Revolution products, and love their price tag even more. I was crushing hard on Naked Heat and the Tartlette Toasted palette, but wasn’t willing to shell out the money for either. So I found this guy, and it saved me so much money by giving me triple the shadows! They definitely aren’t the best quality eyeshadows and they take some layering, but I think this is a great dupe for some of the warmer-toned palettes out there. You get a ton more options, and the shimmers are great when used over a glitter glue or with a wet brush.
