I’m not usually a huge LOFT person, but I have occasionally found some really good finds there. Especially when they have awesome sales! I recently saw they were having a 40 percent off sale & I thought I should check it out.

So I did, and found some really great pieces! Here are the items I bought, plus two not pictured that I ordered.

LOFT romper

Floral romper

I ordered a simple black high-neck tank and a long sleeve, chambray type dress shirt with a subtle polka dot print. Both are SO SO soft and both so versatile!

Yellow shorts/ black tank (old from Free People)

Everything I got is precious, but I have to say I think the romper and the basic black tank are my favorites. And I’ve already worn most everything I got!

LOFT shorts and shirt

Yellow shorts/ floral blouse

Do you like shopping at LOFT? Or are you a more trendy shopping kind of girl? Let me know where I should try!

It’s transition season ya’ll, and you know what that means in Alabama. It’s sweater and shorts season.

While this season doesn’t last long here (we typically move from winter into summer within a week), I still love this time of year. Its perfect weather to sit outside, the mosquitoes aren’t out, and you don’t sweat your face off.

Sweater and shorts outfit for spring.
Shorts (similar)/ Sweater (similar)/ Bag/ Name necklace/ Earrings (similar)

I loved these denim shorts last year and they’re already in my rotation again this year. They’re Joe’s Jeans from TJ Maxx, but here is a similar option from the brand. I think they’re the perfect length, which can be so hard to find!

This sweater is from Three Dots and I can’t find the exact one, but there’s a lookalike at Forever 21.

Also, ya’ll know I love me a good pair of statement earrings, and these are no exception. They are also from TJs, but Red Dress has some cute white earring options. Name necklace is one of my new faves from the Sis Kiss, and the other is my name in Arabic all the way from the Middle East.

Happy Spring!

Hi ya’ll! I’ve been in a creative rut lately, but now that the cooler temperatures are finally coming I am feeling more inspired.

Here in Alabama, the weather is STILL reaching the 80s in the afternoons– not cool October. But, the only plus side of that is that I can mix in some of my favorite fall pieces with some warm-weather faves! Here’s one outfit combo I don’t think you can go wrong with: A loose floral blouse, a denim skirt, and mules. I reach for this kind of look time and time again when I’m going to eat with my family, having lunch with girlfriends, or trying a new restaurant with my fiancé for dinner.

(PSSSST I’ll be saying husband soon!!)

My exact top is from Old Navy, and can a similar style can be found here. Similar tops are here and here! My skirt is old from Forever 21, but here’s a super close option. Mules are Marc Fisher, and he has some new ones for this season here!

I’m having a thing with mules right now. Some other favorites are from Sole Society, Target, and ShopBop. I have the Target ones in tan and I wear them weekly!

Happy finally almost fall! 🙂fall, Southern Style Diaries, Ivana HrynkiwFollow

We’re so close to fall, and I can’t wait!

Fall is my favorite time of the year for many reasons– a chill in the air, the upcoming holidays, pumpkin-flavored everything… and fall fashion. To me, there’s nothing better than a good pair of boots and oversized sweater!

As fall approaches, I love seeing all the transition pieces start coming out. While I can’t wait to get a new pair of OTK boots, it makes sense to pick up a few pieces that I can wear now and take into fall with a good denim jacket or pair of leggings.

On that note, here’s my top pieces to take you into fall. And, they’re all from Amazon! Fall fashion plus Amazon prime… you had me at hello.

Happy fall shopping!

Amazon, Amazon fashion, fall, fall fashion, Southern Style Diaries1. Nine West Levona Crossbody with Floral Pom: The cutest little bag to go from work to date night! This will look awesome with jeans and a white button down now, and with a sweater later.

2. Ella Moon Waterfall Collar Cardigan: I’m a sucker for fringe sweaters, and I can’t wait to wear this over a plain white tank and jeans. You can also wear with leggings when you want a little warmth but don’t want to put on real clothes!

3. Qupid Mule Fashion Bootie: I have these in white, and I’m so obsessed with them. They’re comfortable, affordable, and a lot more versatile than you think! Def going to have to pick them up in black, too.

4. Ella Moon One Shoulder Ruffle Mini Dress: How precious would this be for a fall wedding! If it’s a little chilly, throw on a leather jacket and you’re good to go.

5. Guilty Heart Chunky Block Heel: I ordered these yesterday, and I’m anxiously awaiting their arrival. For $25, you can’t beat these suede heels! The style is exactly like a pair of Sam Edelman’s I have, and everyone needs a pair of leopard heels to wear with dark denim in the fall.

6. LianSan Classic Metal Frame Round Mirrored Sunglasses: A pair of pink sunnies is good year round. Just because the sun starts setting earlier in the fall doesn’t mean you don’t need eye protection (or SPF)!

7. After Market Woven Dress: Again, ordered this over the weekend. I’ve had my eye on this dress forever, but it was over $100… I bought for $18! Buy this before it goes! Also comes in navy, which would look awesome with a denim jacket for chilly weather.

8. Alexy Mottled Resin Hoops: I am obsessed with these! I got them a few weeks ago and have been wearing them nonstop. They’re super lightweight, go with everything, and are $11. Trendy fashion at a good price!Follow

Hey y’all! Sorry for my absence lately, I’ve been slammed at my day job with some big court news. Keep up with me on Twitter if you’re interested in that!

But, I wanted to pop in and talk to you about one of my favorite activities— shopping! Y’all know I’m on a budget, and I think most of you are too. And, even if you’re not, why spend more money if you don’t have to?

Here are some of my favorite places to shop and some of my best tips per store.

Southern Style Diaries, Ivana Hrynkiw, clothes, shopping, budget

Happy shopping!

TJ Maxx: TJs is my goldmine and I could talk about it for days. But I’ll keep it short and sweet- check out every department, including the beauty and jewelry, for items up to half off store prices! You will find brands you never expected to be there, and save your wallet some pain.

H&M: My favorite leggings are from H&M. It’s one of the only places I can find leggings that are long enough and don’t shrink up past my ankles! Again, don’t forget their beauty aisle! Their makeup products are surprisingly high quality.

Old Navy: This is a great place for comfy basics like cardigans and workout clothes, and they also have an awesome selection of jeans. They have a huge variety of sizes, and their pants come in petite and tall. The Rockstar 24/7 jeans are my favorite!

Forever 21: I love keeping up with current trends, but I don’t want to spend a lot of money on something I’ll probably only wear for a year. Forever has the trendiest clothes, with a huge selection, and you don’t have to shell out money that you’d rather spend on a year-round item. Also, they have some amazing sandals for summer!

Belk: If you don’t have one, Belk is a southern department store that carries brands like Free People, Ralph Lauren, Sam Edelman, Jessica Simpson, French Connection and more. They sell shoes, makeup, accessories, and home goods. The best part— like most department stores— is they’re always having sales and giving our coupons.

Target: I have a love/ hate relationship with Target’s clothes. I always feel like they look so cute on the rack, but not so much on my body. Lately though I’ve really been loving their new brands A New Day and Universal Threads. I got two great work dresses from AND for just $7 and $13 a piece on the clearance rack! I also have two great button down shirts from UT that are so light and comfortable for summertime.

SheIn: I have a lot of thoughts on SheIn, but read more about that here. Overall, I think they *can* be a great source of cheap, cute clothes, especially for summer!

Spring is quickly approaching, and I couldn’t be happier! The season brings some of my favorite clothes, and it feels like such a good time to shop for warm weather items, without being already worn down from the Alabama heat!

I often get asked about what I’m wearing at the time, or trends I’m into, so I thought it would be fun to out together a little spring wish list for ya’ll! These are some things I love and am interested in picking up or copying, from some of my favorite stores.

Because I get asked this a lot too, I wanted to share some of my favorite places to shop. Many of these products are from those places, but here’s a list of my top stores: TJ Maxx, Madewell, Forever 21, ASOS, Free People, Nordstrom Rack, Target, and H&M.

Enjoy, and happy spring shopping!

I love the holiday season for so many reasons, and one of my favorite things is shopping for that perfect gift for my friends and family! Nowadays, there are so many products shoved in our faces that sometimes it’s tough to figure out what the best gifts really are. I put together a gift guide of some of my favorite things to get for Christmas, so maybe it will help you figure out what to buy that special someone (or to ask Santa for!)

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and Happy Shopping Season to all, and to all a good night!

Shop the gift guide

1- Mou Eskimo Sheepskin Winter Boot

I am slightly obsessed with these boots! The only thing I don’t love is the price point, so I’m working to find dupes on Amazon or a gently used pair on eBay. But, in a perfect world, I would have ordered these babies yesterday. A great gift for any woman is always a good pair of fuzzy slippers or comfy boots!

2- InkJoy Pens & Cambridge Notebooks
There is nothing I need more in life, or love, more than pens and a cute notebook to write in! Both my day job and this blog require lots of writing, and I am a person that would much rather write things down on paper than electronically.

3- Apple Watch

Truth, I asked my daddy for a gold Apple Watch with a pink band… I have a problem. But, everyone and their mother has an iWatch these days! I know, because my mom has one.

4- Nike Pro Warm Dri-FIT Leggings

Most of my days consist of going to work, to the gym, and home. If its not work clothes or gym clothes, I don’t need it! I have several pairs of exercise shorts, but I only have a few pairs of leggings that I rotate during the winter months for my workouts. I’m sure my trainers and my workout friends would really appreciate a few new, clean leggings.

5- Target’s Animal Print Design Faux Fur Throw

Every year I ask for a fuzzy blanket. I have never regretted it, and she won’t either.

6- Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette

I have fought the crowd so hard on this palette, but I’m close to breaking. It is just SO gorgeous! And, word on the street is, the colors are beautifully pigmented and have minimal fallout. Every beauty guru either wants this product, or already has it. Ya’ll know I love a good bargain though, and I have heard this Wet N Wild version in “Rose in the Air” is a complete dupe!

7- Copper Measuring Spoons

I have copper pots, an ice bucket, measuring cups, pans, you name it. They look beautiful hanging on my kitchen wall, and they’re useful too! The only thing I’m missing is copper measuring spoons… meaning I may have to buy these for myself.

We recently did our engagement photos, and we had SO much fun! I’ve had so many requests to share them, I figured this was the perfect platform to do that.

I definitely didn’t want our pictures to look staged or stuffy, and I really trusted our photographer to pose us and pick our spots. She did not disappoint! I’ll include links to her website and information at the bottom of the page if you’re in the Birmingham area and are interested!

Casual

Ivana Hrynkiw, Ivana, Southern Style Diaries

For the first outfit, I went with a basic white v-neck and my Spanx leather leggings. I was hoping the leggings would look a little more shiny, but I still how the look turned out. I also wore a BP plaid cape with fringe, and I think the colors were perfect for our scenery!

I’ll admit it… I did by this cape just for the pictures. Glitter and Gingham made me do it.

In case you’re wondering, the Spanx leggings are COMPLETELY worth it. I bought mine during the Nordstrom sale so they were a little cheaper than retail price, but I may buy another pair at regular price… That’s how much I love them. I am a size 27/28 in jeans and I bought a medium in these for reference. My tee is from Madewell and its easily my favorite white tee of all time! My mom steals it daily, and I actually had to rummage in her closet to find it for this shoot.

The second outfit we (when I say we, I mean I) wanted to be a little more formal, so I went with this On the Road velvet maxi. I am in love with this dress and want to wear it everywhere, so I was really excited to wear it for our engagement pictures.

The color is a beautiful, rich purple and the fabric is very thick, so it hangs nicely. You could wear this to a wedding and use tape to secure your chest so it would be a deep V, but that just wasn’t going to work for me in these pictures! Or ever, to be honest…

I bought this dress at the Neiman Marcus Last Call outlet, and I can’t wait to wear it again. I bought it for the pictures, but ended up wearing it to a friend’s wedding about two weeks before the shoot!

For reference, I am wearing a small.

Ivana Hrynkiw, Southern Style Diaries

The boots I have on in this look are from Forever 21 a few years back, but I’ve linked some similar styles!

Boots: Similar here and here

I hope you enjoyed our photos as much as we have. It’s hard to pick favorites! In 99 percent of them, we are laughing and looking like goobers… but that’s us, and that’s what I love.

Hey ya’ll! So, so sorry I’ve been MIA the last two weeks. Everything has been crazy with work, wedding planning, and my small ounce of a social life. Anyway, everything is finally settling down and I have the opportunity to sit down and get back on my blogging schedule!

Today, I want to talk about kimonos that every woman needs in her closet. I love kimonos– they can take a simple jeans and a tee look into something fun and creative, without really any effort at all! I also have taken a page from my Mom’s book, and started wearing them when I want to cover my shoulders for work or because my outfit needs a little something , and I don’t want to just throw on something boring.

There are so many types of kimonos out there right now, and here are my favorite ones that I think you need for the fall! The item is linked at the beginning of each blurb, where it reads “(blank) kimono.”

kimono, style, fashion

Enjoy, and happy shopping!

Black kimono— Everyone needs a versatile black kimono in their closet. It can pretty much be paired with anything, dressed up or down, and gives you a little shoulder coverage for when either a) it’s chilly, b) you’re at work or another professional venue where you feel like covering up a little more, or c) you just think your outfit needs something. This simple piece from ASOS is $29, has a cute lace trim and subtle side slits, so it moves with you. Perfect for the kimono newbie!

Satin kimono— Total disclosure– I found this kimono while writing this post, and ordered it immediately. I can’t help myself. The lavender satin is beautiful for a fancy dinner with your beau or a cocktail party… but, I plan on wearing it more casually too, by pairing it with a white tank and black jeans. Wear slides or booties with this, and you have achieved the ultimate cool girl vibe. It’s $78, comes in black (!!!) and, since Victoria’s Secret probably made it for this reason, can be used as a nighttime robe. Lord, please let this be at my doorstep soon.

Floral kimono— A long, pink, floral kimono is pretty much my dream. I love the length of this piece, because it seems dramatic but the overall fit keeps it breezy and perfect for a day at work (or at least, for my work!). The floral pattern on this $49 Love, Fire kimono runs down the sides near the opening, on the back, and on the sleeves, which I totally love. Florals can get real busy looking, real fast… but this simple pattern nixes that issue.

Velvet kimono– This navy, velvet baby is GORGEOUS. I love the pattern, because it looks like the night sky to me. It’s Free People, but $88 is not too bad for the brand’s quality fabric and timeless style. I don’t have this kimono, just I want it so badly! Someone add to my fashion fund!

Fringe kimono— This fringe kimono is half sexy, half elegant… which is pretty much all you can ask for, right? I love the pink paisley detailing towards the bottom, but I love how the top is sheer so you can see through to your shoulders. This would work perfectly over a black dress for date night, or over jeans and a tee shirt for a casual Saturday or drinks with your girlfriends. Also, at $17, what’s not to love? (PS if you haven’t ever used SheIn, or even heard of it, check out this post for my experience with the site!)

I don’t know about you, but my weekends are pretty swamped. Not always with fun things, either– yes, there are those, but more than anything my free time on the weekends is filled with errands. More often than not, I feel like the things that consume my weekend are going to the bank, running to pick up something from Lowe’s, and getting milk from the drug store because we’re out. And, that’s okay. I’m not complaining.

The errands OUTFIT

However, it can get really easy to get in an outfit rut when all you’re doing is seemingly mindless tasks. I’m guilty of that! Nike shorts and a t-shirt is SO easy to throw on if you’re just going to the pharmacy. But, I’m trying to be better and I’m trying to make it a habit to care about the way I dress, even if it’s just to do errands.

This top is SO comfy, and from one of my college friend’s online boutique!

“Coffee first” top;  shorts (similar here and here);  OTBT shoes;  lace bralette (similar here)

In the southern July weather we’re getting right now, it makes dressing even more difficult. Here is my pick for a cute, simple, and comfortable outfit to run weekend errands in, even when it’s so hot you don’t want to leave your living room and A/C.

Once again, thank you to my lovely fiancé Mitri for my photos. He’s getting pretty good at this whole photography thing!
